Hello,
I just wanted to send a Welcome to the Season email.  First, I would like to say thanks to Anne for her awesome work adding organization to the team.  She has been doing a fantastic job signing us up for tournaments, updating the new AEYBA team page on sportsengine and leading the communication with the team.  Thanks Anne!

I'm really excited to get everyone in the gym tonight.  I think we will have a great and enjoyable season.  I also want to welcome Sierra Martine and her mother Donna to our bball family.  Sierra played with Neenah previously and is new this year to the East Program.

A couple of reminders about the season.  Continue to watch the sportsengine site.  As we get more information about our practice times, we will share the information there.  We are planning on playing in the early season of the BADL.  We will play on one of the following days for each of these weekends:
Nov 13th-14th
Dec 4th-5th
Dec 18-19th
Tourney Jan 2nd
General Thoughts/Expectations for the season:
Player Expectations
I hope that all girls will meet the following expectations for practices and games.
Practices: I hope that the girls will arrive 10 minutes early, bring their own basketball (if you need one let me know), basketball shoes and bring their own water.
Games: Girls should arrive ready to play 30 minutes prior to game time with their basketball shoes on and ready to play.  Again they should have their own waters.  They can bring their ball, but it is not necessary.

If you are ever in need of some help with transportation.  Please reach out via the team website and ask.  I've been impressed with our group working together to help one another.  I am also glad to help out!

If a player can not make a practice or game, please let me know as soon as possible.
48 hour rule
As many of you know, I am a very passionate basketball coach.  I love the game and feel honored to work with the girls.  There may be times where you disagree with a decision I make.  If you would like to speak to me about something, please wait two days to think about the best approach.  Ideally, if your daughter has a concern she could bring it forward, however as a 8th grader that may be difficult.  If you have a concern and your daughter doesn't not, please don't discuss your concerns with your athlete.  We all need to work together to develop the team.  If after 48 hours you want to talk, please let me know and I will make time where we can meet in person to discuss your concerns.

Covid-19
If you have any questions about the attached document, please let me know.  Please err on the side of caution.

Championship Season
Sometime following the completion of the BADL season the second season will begin.  There will be a greater focus on competition during this time.  During the State Invitation Tournament, playing time is limited.  It may be possible during these games that a person sees limited time or even no time in a half or game.  This is less likely but still possible in other routine tournaments during the 2nd season, but could happen again in the Badgerland Tourney at the conclusion of the year.
Timeline
We are still working on finalizing our tourney schedule.  We will also pick up some free or reduced tourneys throughout the year.  I will do my best to get this information out as soon as I can via the team website.
In closing, I am really excited about the year and hope you are too.
Best wishes,
Coach Jazdzewski
